Synopsis ~

On his way home, Alec finds a boy unconscious on the side of the road. The "boy" turns out to be a lovely girl who has no recollection of who she is. She chooses the name Caroline for herself and he takes her back with him to Philadelphia. She meets his grandmother, parents, brother, and sisters. The rest of the novel focuses on Alec trying to deny his attraction for Caroline by calling her a child (she's 18 to his 32) and then sleeping with her. He also gets mad at her because she accuses him of getting back together with his ex-mistress even though he just accused her of being with his brother (both accusations are unfounded). This lovely little scene comes a few months after they admit that they are in love with each other.
