Paul Goode's - High Hallack Sign
Dedicated to Andre Norton
I etched a sign for the High Hallack Library and it was mounted on the outside wall of the library.
It was there until the library closed and Andre gave it back to me.
Here are some production pictures.

The frame for the sign is made of Purple Heart, an extremely
hard Brazilian wood.
I will never work with that wood again.

The glass is covered with contact paper.

The image (by Brian Worthington) is traced onto contact
paper using graphite paper.

Each line is cut out using an X-Acto knife.

Acid etching cream is spread on the contact paper and allowed to eat the exposed glass for ten minutes.

The contact paper is removed and the acid is washed off. You
can now see the image.
